The countdown is over—it's finally tournament week! We’re thrilled to welcome 672 registered players to the 2025 World Euchre Championship by Bicycle Cards this weekend at the New Glarus Fest Haus, located at 106 3rd Ave in the heart of New Glarus, Wisconsin.

This is more than just a Euchre tournament. It’s a celebration of community, card-playing camaraderie, and a shared commitment to the game we love. Also, your entry fee is more than a ticket to compete—it’s a donation that helps our small town fund capital projects for future generations to enjoy.

Tournament Schedule

• The tournament venue opens promptly at 7 AM.

• Check-in procedures will commence at 7:30 AM. With approximately 672 seats in the tournament, our team will be working tirelessly, aiming to check in players as quickly as possible. It's no small feat, so we ask for your cooperation and patience.

• We highly encourage arriving early to streamline the check-in process and ensure a smooth start.

• You may also check-in early at Kleeman’s Bar & Grill Friday evening from 5 PM to 8 PM.

• Attendance at the rules meeting is not mandatory, but we strongly recommend you attend. There is a rules meeting 30 minutes before the start of each tournament. It will be a valuable opportunity to clarify any inquiries and ensure a level playing field for all. In the event that you miss the rules meeting, we trust you are familiar with our rules, Euchre etiquette, and gameplay mechanics.

• Contestants can check in until 15 minutes before the start of each tournament. After that we will begin seating those on the waiting list and you may lose your seat(s) if you do not arrive before then. Please arrive early and complete the check-in process within the designated time frame.

Important Check-In Information

To check-in for the tournament you have two options: (1) going to Kleeman’s Bar & Grill Friday night between 5 PM to 8 PM OR on the day of the tournament. If you are checking in on the day of the tournament, people must check in ACROSS THE STREET from the New Glarus Fest Haus in the building there. It is located in the corner of the New Glarus Village Park. There are restrooms available there, too. Just look for the large Check-In sign.

A Few More Important Reminders

1. This event is a fundraiser, not a high-stakes competition. Let’s keep things light-hearted and fun.

2. All skill levels will be on full display. We ask experienced players to be patient and newer players to stay attentive. Please take breaks between games—not during them.

3. Please try to time your restroom and smoke breaks between games and please be quick. It is important that we keep the tournament on schedule.

4. Be courteous, cooperative, and respectful—at the table and throughout the day.

5. Cheating will not be tolerated. If you suspect it, don’t confront others at the table—report it discreetly to one of the many volunteers.

6. Above all else: Have fun!

This is only our third time hosting a tournament of this scale, and though it gets better every year, there may be a few hiccups still. We thank you in advance for your patience, cooperation, and constructive feedback. With your help, we can improve and grow the World Euchre Championship and World Euchre Federation for years to come.

The World Euchre Federation would like to issue a correction and provide important clarification regarding the format for the Final Table at this year’s Doubles Tournament at the 2025 World Euchre Championship. In last week’s announcement, we stated that the championship would be awarded based on cumulative scores from both the preliminary and finals rounds. That is no longer the case.

In an effort to add drama, suspense, and create something that will generate online excitement—including video highlights on YouTube—we are introducing a new Final Table format exclusively for the Doubles Tournament.

This new format will ensure the World Euchre Doubles Championship is decided in the most thrilling way possible:

Here’s how it will work:

• After the preliminary and finals rounds conclude, the two teams with the highest combined point totals will advance to a single final game.

• This final game will consist of three trips around the table (12 hands total).

• The winner of this final match will be crowned the 2025 Doubles Champion, regardless of cumulative score leading into the final game. The losing team will be declared runners-up.

• In the event of a tie, one final sudden-death hand will be played to determine the winner.

This change is designed to give players a shot at redemption and spectators a championship moment they won’t forget. We look forward to showcasing this exciting new format during Sunday’s livestream and hope you'll join us—either in person or online—for what promises to be an epic conclusion to the Doubles Tournament.

With the 2025 World Euchre Championship just days away, the weather forecast is starting to come into focus—and the outlook is good.

Unlike last year’s record-breaking heat, temperatures this weekend in New Glarus are expected to be far more pleasant. Sunny skies are in the forecast, and overall conditions should be great for the tournament and all the surrounding festivities. That said, attendees should plan ahead and pack accordingly.

Winds are expected to pick up on Friday, so if you’re arriving early or attending outdoor events that day, be prepared for a breezy welcome. Sunday morning, on the other hand, will start off quite cool. Saturday morning less so. If you’re playing in the Doubles Tournament either morning, we recommend dressing in layers.

The Fest Haus tournament venue will be heated if necessary. With hundreds of Euchre players in one space, it’s hard to predict how much additional warmth will be needed—but we’ll be ready either way. Please do the same.

It’s going to be a beautiful weekend for Euchre in New Glarus. We’ll see you soon—rain or shine, but most likely shine!

Below are the tally sheet and scorecards for use in the tournament. Every player will have a tally sheet to keep track of their own score in each tournament. You will need a new tally sheet for each tournament in which you are playing. There is a different scorecard for each tournament, also. Please take the time to write that information so it is clear and legible. Doing so will make the scorekeeping process go more smoothly.

Get ready to step into the spotlight—literally! At this year’s World Euchre Championship by Bicycle Cards, we’re rolling out the red carpet once again to capture the spirit, excitement, and unforgettable moments of the largest Euchre tournament in the country.

Players and guests will have the chance to be photographed on the red carpet in front of the Bicycle Cards backdrop. Whether you arrive solo, with your doubles partner, or with your entire Euchre entourage, strike a pose and create a memory to last long after the cards are put away.

But that’s just the beginning.

Our event photographers will be stationed throughout the venue to document the action—dramatic table showdowns, high-fives after epic loners, and the faces of champions as they emerge. Meanwhile, a videographer will be capturing dynamic footage from the tournament floor, creating highlight reels that showcase both the intensity and fun of the weekend.

And if you’ve got a story to tell, we’d love to hear it.

We will be conducting interviews at the venue to spotlight the incredible individuals who make the World Euchre Federation what it is. Whether you’re a Euchre veteran or playing in your very first tournament, your story is part of what makes this event special.

After the tournament, all red carpet portraits, gameplay photos, and video clips will be made available in an online gallery. You'll be able to browse, download, and share the experience with friends, family, and fellow card sharks on social media.

So, bring your best Euchre face, your sharpest outfit, and your most outrageous victory celebration. You’re not just attending a tournament—you’re making history.

Euchre players coming to New Glarus this May have one more reason to get excited. During the 2025 World Euchre Championship, attendees will have a chance to win big—while supporting a very good cause.

A special raffle will be held throughout the weekend, with all proceeds going directly to the construction of a brand-new dog park in the village of New Glarus. Tickets will be available for purchase at the venue, with great prizes up for grabs for a few lucky winners. Three winners will be pulled randomly at 1 PM on Sunday for a chance to win $2000, $1000, or $500. Tickets are $10 each, or 6 for $50.

The new dog park will be a welcoming space for four-legged residents and visitors alike, providing a safe, fenced-in area where dogs can run and play freely. Your participation in the raffle helps bring this long-needed project to life.

So, while you're at the tournament competing for glory, don’t forget to pick up a raffle ticket—or a few. You might walk away with a prize, and you’ll definitely be helping a small town do something big.

1. American Legion & Auxiliary Pancake Breakfast: On Saturday May 17 (7 AM to 11 AM) the local American Legion & Auxiliary chapter will be serving breakfast at Legion Hall, and you all are invited. Includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, applesauce and beverage, all for $8.00. The address is 1121 2nd Street in New Glarus.
   

2. New This Year—Fried Cheese Curds: The New Glarus Lions Club will be outside of our tournament venue selling a Wisconsin specialty this year, fried cheese curds. Cost is $5 and beef sticks are $3. If you are from outside of Wisconsin, you are going to want to give these a try.

3. Tournament Hack: Last year some players complained about the seats being a little hard, especially for long tournament. If you have a sensitive tush, we encourage you to bring a seat cushion to the tournament with you. Some did this last year.
   

4. Why Are You Going to Win? Would you like to participate in our podcast? Send a 10 to 30 second (horizontal, not vertical) video of you telling us why you are going to win the 2025 World Euchre Championship. 5. Handicap Parking: If you need a handicap parking stall at the event, email us at support@worldeuchrefederation.com and we will reserve a space for you and email you additional information.
   

6. Dollar Bills: Need dollar bills in case you get Euchred? Change can be made at the bar or at the membership tent. Volunteers will also be able to help you and there will be an ATM machine on site as well.
   

7. Membership Cards: Are you a current member and have a plain Jane membership card without your name embossed on it? Stop by the membership tent to get a new one with your name embossed on it. Or stop by to renew your membership and get a new one also!

As the 2025 World Euchre Championship kicks off this weekend, we’re already thinking about how to make it even better next year—and we’d like your help.

A few days after the tournament wraps up, we’ll host a post-mortem follow-up meeting open to all World Euchre Federation for members only. This 60 to 90-minute session is your chance to weigh in on what worked, what didn’t, and what can be improved not only for next year’s championship but for Euchre tournaments across the country.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 21 at 7 PM (Central Time) via Google Meet to ensure anyone can attend regardless of location.

Whether it’s something about the tournament structure, table movement, check-in process, signage, or even the food—we want your feedback.
