The World Euchre Federation is proud to announce the inaugural Junior World Euchre Championship, a first-of-its-kind tournament dedicated to the next generation of Euchre players. Set for January 10, 2026, the championship will take place at Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells—home to one of the largest indoor waterparks in the Midwest.

The event will feature two age divisions: 12 to 14 and 15 to 17. All players must be under 18 years old as of January 10th to be eligible to compete. This new addition to the World Euchre Federation’s growing list of events reflects our commitment to expanding the game’s reach and creating opportunities for players of all ages.

Chula Vista Resort & Conference Center offers a family-friendly venue within steps of thrilling water attractions. All registered attendees staying at the resort will receive complimentary water park passes, making it a perfect weekend getaway for competitors and their families.

Tickets go on sale August 7 and are expected to sell quickly as interest in youth Euchre continues to grow and seats are limited. The tournament format, prizes, and registration instructions will be announced in the coming weeks.

Whether your child is already a seasoned card shark or just learning the ropes, the Junior World Euchre Championship will be an exciting celebration of skill, strategy, and sportsmanship.

Mark your calendars: the 2026 World Euchre Championship returns to New Glarus, Wisconsin, from May 15–17, 2026, once again following our cherished tradition of hosting the tournament the weekend after Mother’s Day. As always, this marquee event promises competitive play, camaraderie, and the one-of-a-kind flair that makes New Glarus the undisputed heart of the Euchre universe at least for one weekend.

Next year’s event will build on everything that made 2025 so memorable—with more players, bigger prizes, and even more pageantry. From the championship belt and live emceeing to red carpet photos and high stakes matches, the 2026 Championship will take Euchre to the next level.

One major change this year: tickets go on sale earlier than ever before to give World Euchre Federation members the chance to surprise a loved one with the ultimate Euchre gift this holiday season.

• December 3: Tickets available for members purchasing for themselves or to purchase as Christmas gifts

• January 7: General public ticket sales begin

The World Euchre Federation is actively exploring a bold new expansion: official state championship tournaments. In response to growing interest, we’ve begun internal discussions about how these events might look and what it would take to make them successful.

Organizations from Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, and Indiana have already reached out to us, expressing interest in hosting state Euchre championship tournaments. While the World Euchre Federation doesn’t currently have the resources to produce each of these tournaments independently, we may be able to offer substantial support—especially to nonprofit groups looking to raise funds and benefit their communities.

What WEF Can Offer

The World Euchre Federation might:

• Sanction official state championship tournaments

• Provide marketing support and promotional materials

• Share uniform tournament logistics, systems, technology, format guidance, and branding assets

• Promote events through our digital platforms and social media channels

• And other ways

The ultimate goal is to build something fun and competitive while generating positive impact. That’s why our focus is on partnering with nonprofit organizations that serve a broader purpose, whether that’s youth development, community improvement, or charitable outreach.

At the World Euchre Federation, we’re always looking for ways to elevate the tournament experience—and that includes how we keep score. While we love the classic scorecards and handwritten tally sheets, we know there’s a better, more elegant solution out there. And we’re working on it.

We’re currently exploring two options:

• Handwriting Recognition Technology – Imagine being able to scan a paper scorecard with your phone, and the scores are automatically recorded. We’re testing software that can do exactly that.

• A Mobile App for Euchre Scoring – Much like popular golf apps, each team or player would enter scores directly into the app after every game. This dual-entry system would provide checks and balances, discourage tampering, and streamline results. Of course, our tournament staff would still be available to enter scores manually for anyone who prefers not to use a phone.

But it doesn’t stop there. A well-designed app could:

• Notify players of table movement in real-time

• Provide instant access to rules and FAQs

• Offer player analytics and tournament stats

• Enhance the overall tournament experience
